We often see this in deceased estates where they have kept things for many years. One of my customers who recently lost their elderly husband had us clean up everything that he had kept for over 50 years. Underneath the house we found four very old toilets and several old bathroom vanities still in reasonable condition. His wife said that he grew up in the depression era when nothing was ever wasted and he kept these items (when he had renovated his bathroom several times over the years) just in case a friend or himself needed them down the track.
